Submission Guidelines

How to prepare files for mastering

Stereo Mastering Submission Checklist

1. Export the final stereo mix (WAV or AIFF):
– Format: WAV or AIFF
– Resolution: 24-bit or 32-bit float
– Sample Rate: Keep the original sample rate (44.1 kHz, 48 kHz, 96 kHz, etc.)
– Headroom: Leave -3 dB to -6 dB of peak headroom. Avoid any clipping.
– Normalization: Do not normalize.
– Dithering: Do not apply dithering well handle it during mastering if needed.

2. Remove any processing from the master bus that alters dynamics or loudness:
– Disable limiters, maximizers, or hard clippers.
– You may keep subtle EQ or saturation if its part of your sound, but let us know.

3. Bounce from the start of the track (not just audio):
– Include a few seconds of silence at the beginning and end.

4. Label your file clearly:
Example: ArtistName_SongTitle_Mix.wav

Stem Mastering Submission Checklist

1. Export grouped stems as stereo files:
– Typical stems include: Drums, Bass, Instruments, Vocals, FX

– Bit depth: 24-bit or 32-bit float
– Sample rate: Same as your projects native rate
– Headroom: Ensure each stem peaks at -3 dB to -6 dB
– No master bus processing
– Stems must be aligned from the same start point

3. Keep processing that’s part of the sound (optional):
– Leave it on if essential; provide dry/wet versions if unsure.

Examples: Artist_Song_01_Drums.wav, Artist_Song_02_Bass.wav
